After the ceremony

after the ceremony 6

I had the opportunity to snap a few pics right after the ceremony...and then I put the camera away and enjoyed the festivities.

Here is Jen posing with a couple of the youngest members of her wedding party...JanKris Winery grapes growing in the background.

What a great party it was after all...!

Jen and Roth

Well...the wedding has come and gone. All went well with nary a hitch. And even though during the planning stages I expressed a desire to be the photographer, the caterer, and the offiant...Jen stood fast and disallowed all of that. It was a good thing too...I thoroughly enjoyed the whole wedding weekend and didn't have to "work" any of it.

I was able to take a few pics just before the rehearsal (above) and after the ceremony (www.flickr.com/photos/jackdiddley)...that was just enough.

Jen and Roth are off on their honeymoon cruise to Alaska. She has either called me or emailed me every day they've been gone...so I guess she will always be my little girl.

Harley Reflections

loretta & shades

Loretta and I went to the annual Modesto Graffiti Car Show the other day. Lots of hotrods, custom cars, and a Beach Boys concert. Whenever they decide to get their sound system adjusted, they might be worth going to. This is the third time in 12 years we have seen (and heard) the Beach Boys and they always sound like crap.

Maybe next time.

The Bride's Court...a week and a half to go.

DSC04818

A photo of Jenifer and her bridesmaids (Shawna, Tawny, & Meaghan) taken at her shower a few weeks ago.

The wedding is just over a week away. My little girl will not only be getting married, she may be moving out of state also.

Most of the plans have all been set. Some people don't have room reservations yet, despite that...the ceremony will go on as planned.

Maybe that is why I have been a little down the last few days. It's the end of one facit of my life and the beginning of another. I will actually be someone's father-in-law. I will actually have a son-in-law. I may actually have a grandchild in the near future. The good part about the latter...Jenifer has waited to make that reality something that happens while married.

I just hope I can live up to the new responsibilities.

Keep Playin' That R & R

Free Ride for MD

Loretta and I participated in the annual Sierra Hope Ride for MD Saturday. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 3000 riders took to the road. The idea is to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. This year, the event raised more than last...the figures aren't in yet but it looks like over $500,000 so far.

Besided the excitement of teaming up with 3000 other (mostly) Harley riders on a 58 mile trek from Modesto to Sonora and a great BBQ meal...we were treated to a concert by long-time classic rocker Edgar Winter. He and his kick-ass band were right on with their hits Free Ride, Frankenstein, and Keep Playin' That Rock & Roll (all hits from the 70's). What a blast! They sounded great and a good time was had by all.

So, when Labor Day rolls around and the checks are being handed to Jerry for the kids, you'll know where a large portion of the Harley-Davidson funds come from. They come this event and many others like them throughout the year.
